Four tamu with a published weekly day fall on a Tuesday, spread across three districts: Tamparuli and Kiulu in Tuaran, Pandasan in Kota Belud, and Kuala Penyu in the district of the same name Sabah Tourism Board. The Tuesday listing is firmer for some than for others, and one of the four is better treated as a Wednesday market Wikipedia.

Before you go

Days are published for all four; opening times, entry charges and stall numbers are not. The Sabah Tourism Board list gives each tamu a day of the week and no hours, so when trading starts and finishes is not stated and is worth confirming with the district office or a trader before setting out Sabah Tourism Board.

Kuala Penyu is the one partial exception. A community schedule carrying reader comments puts its Tuesday trading from midday to the afternoon, and the same comment, left in 2019, claims a Monday market running from the morning into the afternoon; that is a reader's account rather than an official listing, and it disagrees with the two sources that give Tuesday alone Sabahan.my Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia.

Kota Belud and Kuala Penyu

Pandasan is the Tuesday tamu in Kota Belud district. Its day comes from the Sabah Tourism Board list, reviewed in June 2024, and no second source confirms it, so the day is worth checking locally before a long drive Sabah Tourism Board.

Kuala Penyu has the best attested Tuesday of the four, given by both the Sabah Tourism Board and Wikipedia Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia. A Tamu Desa bazaar building was opened in the district in 2024 under a federal programme for small traders Daily Express.

How firm each Tuesday is

The four are not equally well attested. Kuala Penyu's Tuesday is agreed by two independent sources, Kiulu's and Pandasan's rest on a single list reviewed in June 2024, and Tamparuli's two sources disagree outright Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia Wikipedia.

For Tamparuli the Sabah Tourism Board gives both Tuesday and Wednesday, while Wikipedia gives Wednesday morning only Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia. Both days are set out rather than one being picked, and a visitor with a single free day has safer ground on a Wednesday Wikipedia.

The Sabah Tourism Board list itself carries a date of 6 June 2024, so even the agreed days have had time to change, and a call to the district office before travelling is the surer course Sabah Tourism Board.
