For planning, not a guarantee
Tamu Borneo gathers published information about tamu so you can plan a visit. It cannot guarantee that a tamu will be running on a given day, at a given time or in a given place.
Market days and sites change
Tamu days, hours and sites can change without notice — for example while a market is redeveloped or under new council arrangements. Some sources disagree, and some days come only from community lists. “Listed for today” means a source publishes today as a market day, not that we have confirmed the tamu is on.
Check locally before a long trip
If you are travelling far, ask locals, your accommodation or the district office before you set out. Each listing shows when its sources were last checked.
Maps and directions
Map positions come from OpenStreetMap and have not been surveyed by us. Where there is no verified position, the directions button opens a Google Maps search, which may not land on the tamu itself. District outlines are simplified for display. We do not cover road conditions or travel times.
Food, dietary and alcohol notes
Descriptions of food, including notes about pork and alcohol, come from the cited sources and may not apply to every seller. Ask the seller if you have dietary, religious or allergy requirements. Tapai and lihing are alcoholic rice wines.
Who we are not
Tamu Borneo is not affiliated with the Sabah Tourism Board, any district council or any trader, and it does not sell food or take orders. Anything you arrange at a tamu is between you and the traders.
Spotted a change?
Tell us — with a link to a notice if you have one — and we will look for a source and update the listing.
