Three of the five also trade on another day of the week, so a Friday is not the only chance to reach them Sabah Tourism Board.

Before you go
Trading hours are the main gap. Beaufort is the only one of the five with a published time, at 6am to 3pm under the rules the district council set out in its reopening notice of 19 June 2020, and whether those hours hold is not stated Daily Express. For Donggongon, Kundasang, Sapulut and Weston the start and the finish of the day are not stated at all, so the district office or a trader is the better guide before a long drive Sabah Tourism Board.
Entry charges, stall counts, parking, transport and contact numbers are not stated for any of the five Sabah Tourism Board. Donggongon is also not quite where an older map pin would put it: a temporary ground beside the Datuk Peter Mojuntin Memorial has served its traders since November 2024, while the original tamu building is redeveloped Bernama.
Kundasang needs one distinction before setting out. Roadside vegetable stalls in the town open every day, but they are a separate trade from the tamu itself, which falls on a Friday Wikipedia Sabah Tourism Board.
West coast: Donggongon and Kundasang
Donggongon is the fullest of the five. Farm produce, traditional handicrafts and cooked local food are sold there, alongside household goods and craft pieces such as bangles, headbands and gongs Bernama Wikipedia. Stalls there are assigned rather than improvised, and on a ground this wide the music playing at its centre is the easiest thing to walk towards Sabah Tourism Board.
The Friday is also the last day of a three-day run, which shapes when to arrive. Reader comments on a 2016 community schedule describe trading that opens on the Wednesday afternoon and winds up by about 3pm on the Friday, and mention a half-day Sunday tamu beside the Petronas station as well; neither account has official confirmation Sabahan.my. The timber structure that the temporary ground replaced was found unsafe, and the Public Works Department was appointed in 2023 to design its upgrade The Borneo Post.
Kundasang holds the firmest single Friday of the five, given by the Sabah Tourism Board list and by Wikipedia alike Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia. What its stalls carry and when they open are not stated, so a vendor on the ground or the district office would have to fill that in Sabah Tourism Board.
Interior: Beaufort, Weston and Sapulut
Beaufort is the one interior Friday with any detail attached. Live poultry, fresh meat, vegetables and fruit are sold there, and the tamu runs under Majlis Daerah Beaufort (the district council) Wikipedia Daily Express. Its day is also the least settled of the five, with three different readings set out below Sabah Tourism Board.
Weston, in the same district, is harder to plan around. A district council notice carried by Daily Express on 19 June 2020 puts it on a Thursday, a community schedule from 2016 gives a Friday, and no later source settles the question Daily Express Sabahan.my. Nothing is stated about what it sells or when it opens Daily Express.
Sapulut is the thinnest entry of the five. Its Friday comes from the Sabah Tourism Board tamu list reviewed in June 2024, with no second source found and nothing stated about produce, hours or layout Sabah Tourism Board.
How firm each Friday is
The five are not equally well attested, and the difference matters for a long drive out. Donggongon and Kundasang are the two whose days two sources agree on, Donggongon through Bernama and the Sabah Tourism Board, Kundasang through the Sabah Tourism Board and Wikipedia Bernama Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia. Sapulut rests on a single list and nothing else Sabah Tourism Board.
Two of the five carry outright disagreement, and both readings are given rather than one being chosen. At Beaufort, Wikipedia describes trading from the Friday evening through to the Saturday afternoon, the Sabah Tourism Board gives Friday and Saturday, and the district council named Saturday in its 2020 reopening notice Wikipedia Sabah Tourism Board Daily Express. At Weston the choice lies between that council notice, which says Thursday, and the 2016 community list, which says Friday Daily Express Sabahan.my.
Donggongon's run of days differs by source as well: Bernama and the Sabah Tourism Board put it on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, while Wikipedia lists Thursday and Friday alone Bernama Sabah Tourism Board Wikipedia. The Sabah Tourism Board list itself was reviewed on 6 June 2024, so even an agreed Friday has had time to shift, and a call to the district office is the surer course Sabah Tourism Board.
